2020 is going to be a little different this year. We're not sure what the San Francisco/California guidelines are going to be in October, but we're roughly 100% sure it's not going to include flying in 1000 people for a conference.
SO, instead, we're going to bring the content to everyone in the comfort of their own homes (or wherever you want to safely stream from). We're donating 1/3rd of all ticket revenue to charities that are working for diversity and inclusion and/or fighting for racial equality. The minimum ticket price is $149, but you can specify an amount over that if you'd like. Any additional money over the base price goes to charity and we'll figure out something special to do for folks that do so.
Aside from the donation, what does a ticket get me?
We've never charged for our live stream, and we've gone back and forth on it a lot this year, but we're not going to change that. There will be a live stream available to folks for free. It may be lesser quality than the live stream people with a ticket gets, but there will be a live stream either way.
Aside from donating to a good cause, your ticket gets you: - The good feeling of paying for something you (hopefully) value - The annual t-shirt and a name tag (yes\, your household probably knows your name\, but look\, some of us care about collection continuity) - If we do end up doing a lower-quality free stream\, obviously a higher quality stream - Private channels for Q&A
The nitty-gritty details on this are subject to change! This is a first for us, so we're going to have to roll with some punches along the way.
